Microsoft Agent (MS Agent)

The program offers small animated characters (avatars) who move and speak to you during your BINGOOO session. BINGOOO has implanted an interface for this funciton. Some setttings have to be made before using that function.
In case MS Agent is not installed on your PC you have to proceed as follows:

1. Install MS Agent Core Components Version 2.0 of MSAgent.exe (395K).
WINDOWS 2000 users can skip this step as the Microsoft Agent Core Components are already installed in Windows 2000.
If you use an older Windows version than 2000, you have to download the above MSAgent.exe Setup program and run it to install the core components. You may then delete the setup program.

2. Install the Lernout & Hauspie TruVoice Text-to-Speech Engine (English version) and tv_enua.exe (1MB). Lernout & Hauspie TruVoice Text-to-Speech (TTS) provides speech output capabilities for MS Agent so you can hear from your loudspeakers what the characters are saying.
Download the above tv_enua.exe Setup-Programm and run it to install the TTS engine. Again you may afterwards delete the setup program. After installation you should see Lernout & Hauspie TruVoice American English TTS Engine in the Control Panel's 'Add/Remove' Program list.

3. (optional)
Install the Microsoft Speech Recognition Engine, Version 4.0 actcnc.exe (6MB)
The MS Speech Recognition engine provides speech input capabilities for MS Agent. This allows you to speak to the characters through a microphone. However, MS Agent must be specifically programmed to understand and interact with your speech. MS Agent does not support dictation.
Download the above actcnc.exe Setup-Programm and run it to install the TTS Engine. Again, you may afterwards delete the setup program. Should you have installed this program already you will see MS Agent Speech Recognition Engine 4.0 (in English) in the Control Panel's 'Add/Remove' Program list.

4. (optional)
Install Microsoft Speech Control Panel, Spchcpl.exe (840K)
the Speech Control Panel will add an icon to your control Panel to enable you to list the compatible speech recognition and text-to-speech engines installed on you system and customize their settings for your convenient use.

5. download some MS Agent Characters, Genie.exe
There are many MS Agent characters available and many more are being created. Now that you have installled MS Agent on your computer, you only have to download additional characters (files with .ACS extensions) as they become available and save them to your C:\WINDOWS\MSAGENT\CHARS or C:\WINNT\MSAGENT\CHARS folder, depending on your operating system.

6. When you have installed MS Agent you should check if the function is also activated in the BINGOOO program. To do this, just open the dialogue General options in the options menu. Here, open the register Start to check if the option Sound enabled is activated.
